Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, email, business information, financial data), information from connected financial accounts via Plaid (bank transactions, balances), and usage data about how you use the Platform.

To generate financial reports, forecasts, and analyses
To communicate with you about your account
To improve our platform and services
To comply with legal obligations

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data storage and transmission. Bank credentials are never stored, we use Plaid's secure OAuth connection. Access tokens are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before storage.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to deliver our services (Plaid for banking, Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for hosting) and as required by law.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Data deletion requests will be honored within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax records).

SMS / Text Messaging

Better Ways Accounting & Tax, LLC uses SMS text messaging solely to send one-time login verification codes to users who choose to sign in by phone number. We do not send marketing or promotional messages via SMS.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies. You will receive at most one SMS per login attempt that you initiate.
Message and data rates: Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to opt out of future SMS from us. After opting out, you will no longer be able to use SMS-based login and must use email/password authentication instead.

No third-party sharing: We do not share your phone number or SMS opt-in consent with any third parties for marketing purposes.
Supported carriers: Participating carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most major US carriers. Carrier support is not guaranteed.
